Join Megan Roach, co-founder of Parliament and maker of Adventure Textiles, for a morning of foraging and dyeing at Blandford Nature Center.
This workshop will start with a small walk around the grounds of Blandford as we identify and gather dye materials. We will also go on a tour of the Adventure Textiles Dye Garden, located in Blandford's community garden space, to gather flowers for the dye pots.
The rest of the workshop will take place at the classroom space by the barn and go over proper dye procedures for dyeing with nuts, barks and flowers. This will be followed by a dye bath in which each participant will dye enough cotton and wool fiber (either yarn or fabric) to fill in a dye journal of recipes from the day's foraging and dyeing adventure. A vintage hanky will also be provided to each student to over dye in their favorite foraged color.
Program geared toward participants ages 15 and up .
Program Cost: $50
