Join Dayna Walton of Solstice Handmade for this all-levels class and explore the basics of drawing with pen and ink! Beginners are welcome, there is no experience necessary. Experienced artists are sure to learn a different approach and some new tips. We will cover drawing techniques such as stroke, mark-making, and proportion techniques, then apply them to capture accurate life-like drawings of insects. We will also chat about identifying characteristics and the anatomy of common insects found around us - especially those that we can see signs of during the winter months. All materials will be supplied!

This program is for adults and teens, ages 13 and up. Teens must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Please Note: This program will be held entirely indoors. All participants will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.

COVID-19 Information: As of August 23, 2021, in accordance with guidance from the CDC and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Blandford Nature Center requires all staff, visitors, and program participants ages 2 and up to wear masks while inside all buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are also required indoors and outdoors for all guests participating in a mixed-age community program where attendees are from multiple households and social distancing cannot be maintained. If you or someone you are registering for a program cannot medically tolerate a mask, you must contact our Program Manager prior to booking a program to discuss your options.
