Join Dayna Walton of Solstice Handmade to learn watercolor methods to capture the likeness of fungi. We will use fresh local mushrooms for reference in this class, focusing on everything from color mixing to wet blending and detailing techniques when painting from life. We will also discuss examples of natural science illustrators and their unique approaches to composition. A variety of books and field guides will be available for reference during class. This class is suitable for both beginners and intermediate painters, and all materials will be supplied!

This program is for adults and teens, ages 13 and up. Teens must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Please Note: This program will be held entirely indoors. All participants will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.

COVID-19 Information: As of August 23, 2021, in accordance with guidance from the CDC and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Blandford Nature Center requires all staff, visitors, and program participants ages 2 and up to wear masks while inside all buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are also required indoors and outdoors for all guests participating in a mixed-age community program where attendees are from multiple households and social distancing cannot be maintained.
