Join us for this special edition of our Farmhand Helpers program! Come help us transplant and direct seed in the Children's Garden! This is a great opportunity for kids themselves to get involved with the garden from the very beginning. Come anytime between 10am and 12pm and stay for as long as you like; each registered group will get to take home a plant start of their very own.
Additional Information: Online pre-registration is encouraged to reserve your spots. We cannot guarantee spots will be available if you drop-in the morning of the program, as registration is first come, first serve. Please call the morning of the program if you would like to drop-in to ensure openings are available at 616-735-6240. Look for our staff person in the fenced Children's Garden space next to the greenhouse. Program registration fee covers all day admission to Blandford Nature Center (includes trails, Visitors Center, Wildlife Education Center, etc).

Staff may take card payments or exact change. Plant start cost is included in program registration.
Each registered child is required to have a registered adult accompany them for this program.
Please note there are NO BATHROOMS AT THE FARM from November to March and only port-a-potties available from April to October. The nearest full-service bathrooms are at the Blandford Visitor Center, a 10-15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away.
Please Note: This program will take place indoors and outdoors. In the event of severe weather, the program will be cancelled and participants will be notified of their refund options.
Cancellation Policy: Notice must be received at least 7 days before the scheduled program to receive a 75% refund. There will be no refunds issued after that time. Due to processing fees, full refunds are not available. All Community Programs will be held unless there is severe weather. Please come prepared for the elements; refunds are not available for weather-related conditions except in the case of severe weather. All Community Programs will have a registrant minimum. If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted by Blandford Nature Center and notified of your refund options.
COVID-19 Information: As of January 1, 2023, face coverings are not required while participating in programs indoors or outdoors at Blandford. Blandford will continue to monitor local COVID rates and reserves the right to reinstate masking requirements for staff, general visitors, and program participants of all ages, regardless of vaccination status, if community health concerns arise. Blandford will notify program participants if this policy changes before a scheduled program takes place. Participants should not attend a program if they show any signs of infectious illness, including cough, fever, headache, runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea.
